2021 Wicked Donuts

Wicked Donuts’ Business Journey Timeline:

Where it began:

Wicked Donuts started in 2014 from Jeanne’s home kitchen. It started as a little love project with a view to hopefully make a career change. Luckily the business quickly got traction and Jeanne could leave her day job and run Wicked Donuts full time.

Getting an ActionCOACH:

Jeanne’s partner suggested she look into getting expert advice on how to run her business better, which is what led her to getting involved with ActionCOACH.

They started coaching with ActionCOACH Hein Kruger in 2019. He was instrumental in making some key hires, which allowed Jeanne to focus her attention in the right areas. He was instrumental in helping them navigate very challenging times when Covid hit. Having someone to discuss the best way forward with, was invaluable to them.

Business Milestones:

2015- We opened our first store at the Pavilion shopping Centre. Our business went from a market table and WhatsApp orders to brick and mortar and a website with online ordering capability.

2015-2017– We opened 3 more stores.

2019- We started a retail channel through Spar.

2020-2022- Survived Covid!

Personal Moments:

Hiring the right people and setting up systems to manage a lot of the admin Jeanne was dealing with, really helped to free up some personal time for herself.

Where to next:

Stabilizing the business is key right now (post-covid). Once we have weathered the storm we are keen to explore potential growth and or partnerships that will take the business forward.
